How does your wardrobe look like? Mine is organized according to colour. It’s almost like a mini colour coding party going on in there. I think it makes it so much easier to see what I have and allows me to quickly pick out what I want to wear. There’s something about bright uplifting colours that draw me to them. Put a whole range of colours before me and you will know which are the ones I tend to veer toward.
There are times I pick out an outfit based on my mood, and there are other times I just try on countless pieces of clothing before I think that’s the one I want. Sometimes I plan in advance what I’m going to wear the next morning, but the next morning comes and I feel it doesn’t work. I do have a few no-fail pieces, so if all else fails I know what I can fall back on.
Colours. They work for me. I have always thought of colours as mood influencers. Something bright and cheery could very well put you in a fantastic state of mind. I think prints work the same way too. Think about your own wardrobe, your favourite red and white polka dot outfit could be the piece you always pick out again and again, right after it’s been in the wash. Well, unless you’re someone who only invests in black apparels.
Colours are also a form of expression. I believe I should feel free to express myself, quirks and all. So as they say.. Follow your heart’s desires. Wear something that defines you, something that you feel comfortable in, something that expresses who you are.
